Our ADDIX Coach of the Week is Holland Christian Varsity Boys Soccer coach Dave DeBoer. We are spotlighting Coach DeBoer for “Night of the Nets”, an annual soccer game held at Holland Christian to benefit those in need of mosquito nets to help prevent malaria in Africa.
DeBoer brought the concept of “Night of the Nets” over from his alma mater Cornerstone University when he came to Holland Christian five years ago, and since then the game has been one of the biggest of the year annually for the Maroons.
This year was even more special as it was against rival school Holland. The two teams teamed up to raise money for mosquito nets for those in need in Africa, which is what “Night of the Nets” is all about! Two communities joining together to raise money for a great cause.
The Maroons won 3-1 over the Dutch in this year’s game. There will have a brief spotlight of coach tomorrow on Fox 17’s Morning Mix.
