Our ADDIX Coach of the Week is Frank Keller, who is the high school football head coach for the Jonesville Comets Varsity Football team.
This year the Comets fell to Springport in a close battle in their annual “I Wear Pink For Someone Special” football game. The result though was not the focal point of the night. That’s because in the game, the players wore pink jerseys in honor of someone they know who has fought or is currently fighting cancer.
In his first year at the helm of Jonesville, Coach Keller was an assistant at the program prior to being named head coach in March 2017.
The school’s “think pink” initiative has been expanded to other sports as well including volleyball and soccer.
Athletic director Kathy Bondsteel has been a huge part of the events since their inception at Jonesville. It is the eighth straight year of Jonesville running a pink-out event.
