Our second Great American Giveback game has come to a conclusion as blue bracket winner Twin Valley Soccer held their annual purple game. Twin Valley, coached by Christian Murray, is located in Pennsylvania.
The Raiders won the blue bracket of our Great American Giveback, a social media contest that reward the teams with the most votes with custom cause game jerseys donated from us here at Addix. The Raiders had a strong Instagram presence and won their Twitter poll which helped push them to the top.
Twin Valley competed in our first ever non-football bracket, so we had teams from soccer, volleyball, cross country, cheer, and field hockey competing!
From Coach: “We run a yearly game to highlight the fight against cancer. We have partnered with MiniThon club from our school and we get great participation from the community. We have raffles, games for kids, and collect money with a dance party after the game. One of the boys on the team has a father with pancreatic cancer and we are going to honor him with our game this year. It is a great event that we look forward to expanding every year!”
The Raiders held their game on September 25th this year hosting Conrad Weiser High School. The game included Mini-Thon, which is the “largest student-run philanthropy organization in the world, with all proceeds going to help fight pancreatic cancer at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.” They were there selling baked goods. There was also a silent auction benefiting the cause, a raffle, and of course some great soccer in cause game jerseys!
Proceeds from the event benefited the Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Hope Lodge. Addix was proud to have donated jerseys to this great event won through the Great American Giveback.
Other sports teams at Twin Valley have been doing their own giving back as well! The girls soccer team also hosted their own cancer awareness game raising over $1700 for the Williams Family and Breast Cancer Foundation.
